The Rise of Agentic Voice AI

San Francisco-based Vapi has announced a $50 million Series B funding round today, May 13, 2026. Led by Peak XV Partners with participation from Kleiner Perkins, the round values the company at roughly $500 million. Vapi provides the infrastructure for autonomous voice agents that handle customer support and scheduling with near-human latency.

Massive Scale and Enterprise Adoption

The funding comes on the heels of a massive growth spurt where Vapi handled over one billion voice calls. The startup gained industry-wide attention after Amazon reportedly selected Vapi to manage all customer service calls for Ring during the last holiday season, beating out over 40 competitors.
